You have started your business.

But how do you find clients who can hire you?

Conventional methods, like newspaper or magazine advertisements, do work, but they will cost you a lot of money. Instead, why not go the digital way; one that is inexpensive and can work exceptionally well in the long run?

The following tips can help.

1. Check Google Business Pages

When you search anything on Google worth a location name in your enquiry, you ought to see the local business listings before the organic ones in their rankings.

Now, most of these listings don’t even cost a dime. So go ahead and get yourself one.

It is also imperative to fill out your profile and start getting reviews in case you want to show yourself up in the local listings. Also, try to upload some of your choicest photographs because they show up in search results as well.

2. Automate posts on social media

Social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Pinterest can be an exceptionally useful way for promoting your business.

With that being said, you need to be careful about not wasting a bunch of time on these platforms because they can easily get distracting after a certain point in time. After all, even I can go to Facebook to post a photograph on our business page, and then, thirty minutes later, I am browsing sports videos, GIFs, and other distracting images.

3. Get into blogging

Having fresh and quality content on your website is one of the best ways of letting Google know that your site is still active (this results in improved ranking on a search engine results page).

This also shows your customers that you’re busy. Place yourself in your customer’s shoes and visit any website that hasn’t been updated in the last few months. Do you still think that the website is in business?

And don’t forget to blog about things that your customers want to know. Don’t just come up with bland, direction-less content, or your entire hard work would go down the drain.

4. Get yourself featured on photography blog sites

There’s a ton of portrait and wedding blogs out there featuring photography and photographers at one and the same time.

Try to get yourself featured on them. And if possible, promote them so your clients can actually see. There’s nothing wrong with showing off exactly how good you are. It’s also good for your business.

5. Run a promotional contest

You can use the incredible power of social media for this purpose of yours. The steps would definitely cost you a few bucks, but the return would be worth it.

Now, let’s get to the topic of the contest.

You can arrange for something like a certain amount of prize money for the best event photographer in London. Or you can have something in kind as a prize for the contest.

Contestants would have to submit their photographs on your Facebook timeline; the one getting the most number of likes wins.

By doing so, you would be able to spread the word more than even you can imagine.

6. Get a few testimonials on your site

Testimonials can be the epitome of trust-building elements because they help to increase your credibility and reputation as a photographer to your potential clients.

It’s, therefore, a, excellent idea to reserve some space on your site for showcasing several testimonials of your clients. Sometimes, your clients will volunteer to provide on their own; other times, you will have to ask them for it.

7. Consider giving something back to the community

This doesn’t not only help in building your brand name, but it also helps in building relationships with other professionals who may want to hire you for a job or refer you to somebody they know.

So consider hosting a photography session for any cause that is important to you. A small step like this can help you a lot in the long run.

So that more or less sums up our photo marketing tips on this platform. It’s time we bid adieu for the day. Hope you had a good read.
