No matter whether you’re having your family over for Christmas or hosting your child’s classroom party, both you and your family ought to love these Christmas games meant for players of all ages.

So what are we still waiting for? Let’s take a look at them all without any further ado.

1. Pass the Parcel

Materials Required: Gift parcels; the smaller, the better.

How to play:

It’s quite similar to that of the musical chairs.

As soon as the music begins, the players start passing the parcel around. As soon as it stops, the player clutching the parcel at that point in time gets the opportunity to take a part of the wrapping off. The game continues in this fashion.

The last player to unwrap the final layer of the package gets to keep the present.

2. Locate Santa’s reindeer

This one’s an old-school scavenger hunting game where players have to find Santa’s reindeer hidden around their party space.

Materials needed: Pen, paper, and printed reindeer images (the internet may come in handy for this purpose of yours).

How to play:

You must hide the reindeer photographs as discreetly as possible before the start of the game by choosing easy to moderately-difficult places for the job. Some suggestions are: behind light, inside a Christmas photo booth (if any), under a table or a chair, mixed with other presents, etc.

You are also advised to prepare a sheet beforehand where players can note down the location of the reindeer once they start playing the game.

As soon as the players arrive, hand them the sheet one-by-one.

Start with a background story like Santa had a huge party last night and had lost all his reindeer. And now, he’s calling for help. The one who helps him the most to get his reindeer back, wins.

Now, follow up the story by providing your players with a rough estimation of the scavenger hunting areas including the likes of your yard, office, or the ballroom.

And then finally, close things up by saying the winner gets an exclusive prize which you would like to keep a secret. The kids would fall for it sure.

3. Gift Wrap Relay

Materials needed: Two identical gift-wrapped boxes, wrapping papers, tapes.

How to play

As far as the “Gift Wrapping Relay” game is concerned, the players will have to play in teams.

One player on each team should start the game by unwrapping a gift package at a wrapping station (a stool, or a table) where pre-cut wraps and tapes are set up for the play.

Both players will then have to rewrap the whole thing again from scratch in the shortest possible time and race back to their individual starting points to relay the opportunity to the next one in line. The team that finishes first, wins.

4. Snowball Race

Materials needed: Styrofoam balls, and spoons.

How to play:

Players will have to play in teams.

Each team would take turns balancing the Styrofoam ball on a spoon and walk from one end of the room to the other. The team finishing first wins, as simple as that.

5. Gift Stacking Relay

Materials needed: Wrapped boxes, 2 stools, tables or chairs.

How to play

Players will have to participate in teams.

You will have to divide each team into halves placing one half on one end of the room, and the other at the opposite end. Try to maintain a distance of around fifteen to twenty feet between them for the game.

Now, stack 3 gift packages on top of one another, preferably on a stool or a table. Tell the participants that they will have to transport the gifts from one stool to the other (in the form of a team) without dropping any in between. If even one parcel falls, they will have to race back to the starting line and start all over again.

The team completing the job in the least amount of time, wins.

So that sums up the article for now. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the bottom of our hearts. Have a blast!
